About the Event
Come experience a night of laughter and hear funny stories of Chinese immigrant from four comedians, each arriving the states at a different stage in life.
Evan Ho is the son of a comedian and a game designer. He is ten years old and started doing standup comedy when he was nine.
Evan likes Pokemon, piano, and jokes that make people laugh out-loud. Evan has performed comedy in Beijing, Tokyo, and will be a feature performer in the Global Asian Moon Fest in Los Angeles this September.
Albert Lin is a standup comedian with a knack for finding the absurdity in everyday situations, turning the ordinary into something hilariously unexpected. He produces two successful comedy shows in San Jose - Garbage Giggles and Spaced Out Comedy - and has performed at the renowned San Jose Improv.
Richard Yan tells jokes in English and Mandarin (but not at the same time). In the last three years, he has performed in China, Japan, and many U.S. cities, and learned that humor transcends national borders: he has discovered that, an English joke, when skillfully translated into Chinese, can be equally un-funny. Richard performs Chinese comedy at 硅谷脱口秀 (Silicomedy) in San Jose.
Helen Chu was born in Beijing but raised in the Bay Area, Helen has a unique perspective on American culture through her parents’ interracial marriage and her schooling experience in Beijing and Bay Area. An international comedian, Helen has performed comedy in Paris, Lisbon, Vienna, Beijing, and Tokyo. She was also featured in SF sketchfest this year.
The four comedians are here to bring laughter to you with hilariously relatable stories on life as Chinese Americans.
